INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — IMPD says an officer fired his weapon at a suspect late Tuesday night.

The shots were fired near 10th Street and North Tuxedo Street around 11:30 p.m.

Police were dispatched to the scene on reports of a person waving a gun on the side of the road.

When officers arrived they say they found the suspect at the Peppy Grill. When officers approached him he then pushed an officer and pulled a gun. An IMPD officer then pulled his gun out and fired, missing the suspect.

Police say the suspect dropped the gun and ran.

Authorities apprehended the suspect a few blocks away. They say he was knocking on doors asking for help.
