INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 2, 2015) — Police arrested two men for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in Crest White Strips.

Anthony Wiltsee, 32, and Jordan Doss, 30, are expected to be formally charged in the case Monday.

Police reports reveal at least six separate incidents of the pair stealing large amounts of items, mostly white strips, from Indianapolis-area Target and Walmart stores.

“That’s kind of crazy,” shopper Brandi Bourn said.

“Very bizarre,” shopper Chuck Hudak said.

The crime may seem strange to shoppers, but reports across the country show increasing instances of the strips being stolen and re-sold. Most retail for around $50 each.

“Why would you risk going to jail over something so small?” shopper Anthony Malesevic said.

The amount wasn’t so small, though. FOX59 totaled the reports and found more than $7,000 in stolen merchandise. Other stolen items included over-the-counter medications Nexium, Allegra and Zyrtec, Rogaine and even a Walking Dead toy.

The pair could face felony charges, given the amount stolen.
