INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Part of eastbound I-465 closed on the south side of Indianapolis after a crash early Friday morning.

The crash involved a semi truck and a car near the State Road 37/Harding Street exit. According to Indiana State Police, the car became wedged underneath the truck.

The truck was hauling powdered sugar, which caught fire. Three people were inside the car, and a state trooper pulled one of them to safety. All three people inside the car were taken to Eskenazi Hospital.

By 5:50 a.m., two lanes were open, but traffic is slowly moving through the area. ISP said it will take a few hours to offload the semi and move it. All lanes of the interstate reopened later in the morning.
