Police respond to teen struck on near northeast side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) is on the scene of an accident in which a pedestrian teen was struck by a car.

The accident happened near 38th Street and Sherman Drive.

Police said a 15-year-old male was taken to an area hospital after allegedly stepping into the street and was hit by the side of the car.

IMPD said he has a concussion, but is expected to survive.

The driver of the striking vehicle remained on the scene and is cooperating with police.
