INDIANAPOLIS — A woman has been arrested on a murder charge after a man was struck and killed in front of a strip mall on Indy’s north side near the Castleton area.

Police were originally called to Tilly’s Pub (3948 E. 82nd Street) for a report of a person struck around 12:30 a.m. They were also told about some sort of disturbance in the parking lot.

When officers arrived, they found a man on the ground underneath a vehicle. First responders with the Indianapolis Fire Department declared him dead at the scene. The victim has been identified as Andre Smith, 26.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office says the cause and manner of his death was intentionally being struck by a vehicle.

Police arrested 26-year-old Gaylyn Morris in connection. They say she was still on scene when officers arrived and was taken into custody without further incident.

Preliminary information leads investigators to believe this incident involved a domestic dispute.
