INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 29, 2014) – A pedestrian died after being struck on eastbound 465 near Keystone Avenue, Indiana State Police say.
Three lanes were closed on the interstate near mile marker 32.6. It happened around 10 a.m. Wednesday, backing up traffic in the area for about two hours.
According to Indiana State Police, the man walked into traffic before being hit by a semi truck and an Acura car. The man died at the scene. State police identified him Thursday as Sha Htoo, 44, Indianapolis. Investigators said his family has been notified.
An autopsy revealed Htoo died from multiple blunt force traumatic injuries.
Police said the man may have intentionally walked onto the interstate from a side street.
Police didn’t cite the driver of the semi, Fred Mullins, 43, Ingalls, or driver of the other car, James Dittoe, 71, Carmel.
