Police: Driver who struck pedestrian got out of car and looked at victim before driving away

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (August 29, 2015) – Police say a man crossing the street to catch a bus was struck by a car late Friday night.

Police arrived on Michigan Road just south of 86th Street around 11:00 p.m.

They say a person was driving northbound on Michigan Road when they struck the man. Police say the driver got out and checked on the person and then drove away.

The man was transported to Methodist Hospital in serious condition. Police say he completely lost his leg in the accident.

Police have no leads on a suspect at this time.
