INDIANAPOLIS – In a state where many fans are divided, Gov. Mike Pence wants former Colts quarterback Peyton Manning to know he’s welcome in the Hoosier State.

Pence issued a proclamation declaring Sunday, Oct. 20, “Welcome Back #18 Day” in Indiana. And while the proclamation outlines Manning’s many contributions to Indiana–including his prowess on the football field and philanthropic acts–Pence expects the Colts to come out on top.

“Through his character, generosity and his extraordinary leadership both on and off the gridiron, Peyton Manning has made significant contributions to the city of Indianapolis and the state of Indiana,” Pence said. “Even though the Colts will hand the Broncos their first defeat this season, the First Lady and I, as well as Hoosiers everywhere, look forward to welcoming #18 back to Indiana this Sunday.”
