INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – An Indianapolis woman died in a shooting and crash on the near northwest side Tuesday morning. The shooting occurred just after 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of Lafayette Road and West 30th Street. Police wouldn’t confirm many details of the investigation, but witnesses claim the driver of a yellow Camaro was speeding down Lafayette and slammed into a blue car. Investigators believe the woman inside the Camaro had been shot before the crash. The victim was identified Wednesday as 40-year-old Jane Waughfield. “The Camaro came 90 to 100 miles per hour down the road and hit the blue car and spun it three times,” said witness Mike Smith. That crash left two cars a twisted mess of metal and scattered debris across 30th and Lafayette. “The guy surprisingly got out of his car in one piece and went to the Camaro and opened the door and realized she was unconscious or dead,” said Smith.
