Police identify man killed in northeast side shooting

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A man was fatally shot at the Blackburn Apartments on the city’s near northeast side Wednesday, according to police.

Police were dispatched to the reported shooting in the 3100 block of Brouse Avenue around 8 p.m.

Officers found the victim dead in the common outdoor area of the apartment complex. Police identified the shooting victim as 25-year-old Phillip Brown.

Detectives canvassed the area for additional information and the Indianapolis Forensic Services Agency processed the scene for evidence. While police haven’t released any information about a suspect, they said they are following up on several leads.
