Person in critical condition after hit and run on northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle  in a hit-and-run Saturday morning.

IMPD confirms the incident happened around 4:40 a.m. at 7500 North Shadeland Avenue, just south of Community North Hospital. The victim was hit on a southbound lane.

Debris was still on the pavement and emergency personnel were on scene when our crews arrived.

At this hour, there is no mention of a suspect vehicle and no description of the car.
