Person in critical condition after shooting on north side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– Police say a person is in critical condition after a shooting on the north side Friday evening.

Officers were called to the scene at North Meridian Street and West 38th Street around 5:30 p.m. on a report of a person shot.

When officers arrived, they found a victim shot in the chest. The victim was awake and breathing while being transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Police said the shooting was not a random act. The investigation is ongoing.
