INDIANAPOLIS – Homicide detectives are investigating after they say a man was shot and killed on the city’s near northeast side.

Officers responded to the 2900 block of North Lasalle Street on reports of shots fired in the area.

When they arrived got there, police say they found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound on the sidewalk. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Family members identified him as 34-year-old Simon Mills.

Dozens of friends and family members showed-up at the scene, looking for answers and mourning the loss of their loved one.

Homicide detectives have not released any suspect information at this time. Anyone with information about this shooting is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
