Person shot, killed near location of early morning fatal shooting

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed on the near east side Tuesday night.

Officers were dispatched around 9 p.m. to report of shots fired in the 1100 block of North Kealing Avenue, which is the same street where a man was killed early Tuesday morning.

When officers arrived to the scene, they located the unresponsive male victim who had been shot at least once. EMS arrived a short time later and pronounced him dead on-scene.

Witnesses informed police that the incident started as a verbal confrontation that led to the victim being shot. The suspect then reportedly fled the scene in a silver four-dour vehicle heading westbound.

Detectives say they do not believe this incident is related to the nearby shooting earlier in the day. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317)262-TIPS(8477).
