Person shot on Indy’s near east side early Wednesday morning

INDIANAPOLIS (July 29, 2015) – IMPD officers are investigating a shooting on the near east side of Indianapolis Wednesday morning.

Police responded to a call indicating someone had been in stabbed in the 600 block of North Dearborn Street, near East Michigan and North Rural streets around 4:40 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found a person was shot in the lower back. The victim was transported to a local hospital, and police say the victim was awake.

At this time, no suspect information is available and the investigation is ongoing.
