PERU, Ind. (January 31, 2016) — The boil order in Peru has been lifted effective immediately.

The city would like to advise residents that as a precaution, you should take the following measures:

  • Flush the home or building’s water lines by letting the water run at full force for a minute one faucet at a time to ensure that no contaminated water remains.
  • Flush the automatic ice maker by making three batches of ice and discard all.
  • Clean the faucet screens, change the water filter on the refrigerator and run the water softener through a generation cycle.
  • Purge drinking fountains or other water-using fixtures and appliances of standing water and/or ice.

Peru Utilities is thankful for your patience and understanding.
