PLAINFIELD, Ind. — The Walmart in the 2300 block of E. Main St., Plainfield, closed temporarily due to a fire early Tuesday in the grocery section of the superstore.
According to employees, one of the seafood coolers caught fire, filling the food portion of the store with smoke.
While the store closed to customers because of fire-related maintenance, employees were allowed to enter the building and work on the home and pharmacy side of Walmart.
The store reopened around 7 a.m.
