The 2014 Pokemon US National Championships are being held at the Indiana Convention Center this weekend.

More than 2,000 competitors from around the country are in town for the three-day event, which features intense battles and costumed characters.  It’s the fifth straight year the competition is being held in Indianapolis.

“Pokemon fans are very passionate about the game,” said Rob Novickas, PR and Consumer Marketing Manager for the event.  “And we love seeing families coming out, friends cheering on the players.  It’s a community that’s very strong.”

The winners of the National Championships advance to the World Championships next month in Washington, D.C.
