Police: 3-year-old sent to hospital after apparent near northeast side shooting

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Police say a 3-year-old has been sent to the hospital after an apparent shooting on the city’s near northeast side.

We’re told a car was shot up in the 2000 block of Hillside Avenue after 10:30 p.m.

Police say the child is being transported to Riley’s Hospital for Children. It’s unknown if the child was struck by fragments from a bullet or the car.

Aggravated assault detectives are investigating.
