Pursuit ends in police action shooting on near northeast side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 2, 2015)– An Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officer fired shots Friday night on the city’s near northeast side.

The shots were fired around 9 p.m. A short pursuit at East 30th Street and Keystone Avenue ended near 34th Street and Emerson Avenue.

Police say the suspect attempted to run over an officer.

IMPD reports that the officer fired several shots. No officers suffered any injuries and the suspect has been taken into custody.

The suspect was not shot and suffered minor injuries from a police K-9.
