Update (July 14, 2017) — Darius Printup was acquitted on all charges.

LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Lafayette police say they’ve made an arrest in the shooting death of art teacher Kristi Redmon.

According to Lafayette newspaper Journal and Courier, 18-year-old Darius Javon Printup was arrested on preliminary charges and booked into the Tippecanoe County at 4:14 a.m yesterday.

Redmon’s body was found Wednesday outside her home on Ridgeway Avenue. Neighbors reported several shots in the area, and an autopsy Thursday determined that’s what killed the art teacher.

Printup was previously arrested in May for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Records obtained by Journal and Courier indicate Printup was homeless during that time.
