ST. JOSEPH, MI (April 19, 2016) – Police have ruled the deaths of popular morning radio show host Denise Bohn-Stewart and her husband Eric Stewart as murder-suicide. Police say Stewart shot Bohn-Stewart several times in an upstairs bedroom before turning the gun on himself in the basement.

The investigation began when police responded to their home around 7 a.m. after one of their children called 911. Bohn-Stewart and Stewart were dead when police arrived.

The couple had three children who were also in the home at the time, but they were unharmed.

State police told  WSBT that during their investigations they learned the two were having marital issues.

Bohn-Stewart was a host on the popular radio show Denise & Jonny in the Morning on 98.3 The Coast. She also spent several years as a reporter for WSBT.

Bohn-Stewart was a breast cancer survivor, and she was formerly on the board of directors for the Michigan chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
