Police, fire departments respond to suspicious package on Purdue University campus

Officials said the scene was cleared just after 10:40 p.m. More information is expected.


WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Aug. 22, 2015) — Purdue police and fire departments were investigating a suspicious package reported on campus.

The report came in around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. The package was spotted near the intersection of Martin Jiscke Drive and Third Street.

Purdue officials said people should avoid the area. Anyone with information should contact the Purdue Police Department at 765-494-82221 or dial 911.
