HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. – Police are investigating a fatal crash in Hendricks County. The crash occurred at US 40 and Miles Road, just west of Plainfield.

The two-vehicle crash occurred around 7:40 a.m. Police say one person died and another was injured.

Investigators say a red Jeep entered US 40 northbound from Miles Road and was struck by a Chevrolet pickup truck traveling eastbound. The driver of the jeep, 65-year-old James Andrews of Indianapolis, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

US 40 has since reopened. Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in this case, according to police.
