INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indianapolis Metropolitan police are investigating after a man was found shot to death on a northeast side street early Wednesday morning.

IMPD officers were dispatched just after 5 a.m. to the 4000 block of North Tacoma Avenue in response to reports of a person in the street.

When officers arrived, they found a man dead outside of a vehicle. He appeared to have suffered from at least one gunshot wound.

Neighbors reported hearing three or four gunshots. Officers arriving on the scene found the man laying deceased next to a parked silver Dodge Charger.

Police said they don’t have any suspects in the shooting at this time. The victim was identified as Terrence Fields, 35. An autopsy will be performed Thursday.
