INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (October 28, 2015) — A truck driver is in critical condition at Eskenazi Hospital after being shot at the Pilot Station on the city’s south side Wednesday morning.
According to police, the driver pulled up to a gas pump just after 3:30 a.m. He honked his horn trying to attract attention of someone inside, but he couldn’t get anyone to come out. He then got out of the semi cab and stumbled inside where the clerk called for help.
According to a police report, the truck driver told the clerk that a “lot lizard” shot him.
A worker at a nearby hotel says he saw a small silver car pull into a handicapped spot at the hotel, and a white female exited the vehicle and walked to the back truck parking lot.
The motel has surveillance cameras and it will share those with police to help with the investigation.
The man was driving a truck for Enol Transportation, which is an Illinois-based company.
We’ve reached out to them for comment, but we are still waiting to hear back.
