INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A death investigation is underway on the near northwest side of Indianapolis after a man’s body was found near a playground.
The investigation began around 1:30 a.m. on Friday. Police received a call from someone who said they saw what appeared to be a body in the grass near West 23rd Street and Groff Avenue.
Officers found a dead man near Centennial and Groff Park. Homicide detectives responded to the scene.
“We do know the individual suffering from trauma about the body, not verified exactly what that trauma is,” IMPD said. “We have very little to go on.”
It is unclear how the man died. Police say they didn’t find any shell casings in the area.
