INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Dec. 22, 2014)-- Indianapolis police officers are investigating three separate shooting incidents that left two people dead Monday night.

The three incidents happened within an hour.

"It’s been a busy night.  Our detectives are working every scene as best as they can," says Rafael Diaz, with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD).

Police confirm a person was shot in the chest on the near northwest side Monday night in the 700 block of Roache Street.

The victim was transferred to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition. The victim later died at 9:30 p.m.

Another shooting occurred at 32nd Street and Station Street on the city's near northeast side. A person was found dead at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds. Police identified the victim as Tyrone Lewis, 28, of Indianapolis.

In the third incident, a person walked into Community East Hospital with a gunshot wound. The victim told police he was shot near the intersection of East 28th Street and North Sherman Drive.

That victim was transported to Eskenazi Health in stable condition.

"We really don’t know how big the scene is. Officers are going to be walking around trying to find any shell casings or any evidence they can help them to try and find who is responsible for these shootings," said Diaz.
