Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department have located a vehicle that was stolen after a fatal home invasion last Friday.

Police said the stolen 2009 black Hyundai Sonata was located on the city’s near north side in the 500 block of W. 42nd St. No one was with or in the vehicle at the time of the discovery.

Officers have been searching for the vehicle in connection with the homicide of 67-year-old Thomas Teffft, who was fatally shot in the garage of his north side home at 86th Street and Harcourt Springs.

Police said the suspect then stole Tefft’s car and fled the scene. The car was towed to a secure site for forensic processing.

Police are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
