NEW ALBANY– A southern Indiana man was arrested after police said his grandson used Facebook to get help, stating his grandfather was holding him against his will.
James Ross, 56, is accused of assaulting the 14-year-old boy and not letting him leave their New Albany home.
Authorities said Ross’ grandson used Facebook to contact his aunt, who then called police.
A SWAT team was dispatched to the home Tuesday morning and the boy was removed. Officers seized nearly 40 firearms and approximately five pounds of marijuana from a safe inside the house.
Ross faces battery, strangulation and drug charges.
