FISHERS (April 25, 2014) – An Indianapolis man stole a Porsche and hit an employee at a Fishers car dealership before trying to evade officers, police say.

Thursday afternoon, an employee at Coast to Coast Imports near 131st Street and Britton Park Road called 911 after a man stole a white Porsche Cayenne SUV and hit another employee while leaving the lot. The vehicle was going south on State Road 37 from 131st Street, the caller said.

While being dispatched to the dealership, an officer spotted a car matching that description and pulled it over. As the officer left his squad car, the driver of the Porsche sped away.

Officers found the SUV abandoned near the Super Target at 11750 Commercial Dr. Detectives searched businesses and the Target, eventually finding the man in the men’s restroom. Detectives detained him and took him to the Fishers Police Department for questioning.

They identified him as Trevor M. Onar, 23, Indianapolis.

During the interview, police said Onar suffered a medical condition and took him to Community North Hospital. He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail after being cleared by a doctor.

Charges against Onar include auto theft, battery with a deadly weapon and resisting law enforcement.

Fishers police are working with the Lawrence Police Department because Onar may be responsible for another car theft in that jurisdiction.

The injured employee was treated at the scene by paramedics from the Fishers Department of Fire and Emergency Services. Noblesville police and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department aided in the search and arrest.
