Police: Man’s quest for Facebook sex with teen ends in robbery

INDIANAPOLIS – A 41-year-old man hoping for a Facebook hookup with a 16-year-old girl ended up getting robbed instead.

According to a report from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the man met the girl on Facebook and the 16 year old told him she wanted to meet for sex. He picked up the girl on Thursday around 2 p.m. at an apartment complex in Noblesville. The girl said she a had a friend whose parents weren’t home, so the man agreed to drive her there for a party.

They ended up in downtown Indianapolis at an abandoned house, where the teen told him to wait so she could get her friend. Before the man knew what happened, two male teenagers started punching, kicking and threatening him, according to the report. They also threatened to shoot him and took his wallet, keys and cellphone.

The girl and her friends—all between the ages of 14 and 20, according to the report—then took the man’s car, a 2013 Lexus, and used to credit card to go on a shopping spree. Three other teens kept an eye on the man until the others returned around 9:30 p.m.

After coming back, the teens returned the car to the man, who drove back home and told his wife he’d been robbed and called police.
