MUNCIE, Ind. (Oct, 28, 2015)– Muncie police say a man threw his girlfriend to the ground during a dispute that started over toilet paper.

The incident occurred Monday night at a home on West First street.

Police say Bryan Alwine was upset because his girlfriend didn’t buy the kind of toilet paper he likes. He went to his car to leave and the woman followed to get her personal belongings out of the car.

That’s when police say Alwine threw the woman onto the pavement. Police said the two have a long history of domestic problems. Alwine was previously arrested for threatening to kill his girlfriend.

He was charged with domestic battery in the presence of a child and arrested Monday. He bonded out on Tuesday.

Alwine called FOX59 Wednesday to “set the record straight.” He said he was acting in self defense and pushed her to the ground after she started “bothering” him and “starting arguments.”

He says she hit him, and he pushed her down.

He denied having previous domestic issues with his girlfriend. He claims they have been together for more than five years. He also denied toilet paper playing a role in the dispute.

Muncie police told us the victim is not being cooperative with investigators.
