INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A police officer was shot in the back of the leg on the city’s southeast side Saturday evening.
The officer was on the scene of a suicidal person in the 8700 block of Carver Drive at the time of the shooting, according to police.
We’re told the suspect was taken into custody after being tased.
Police say the officer was transported to the hospital in good condition with a non-life threatening injury.
The injured officer is an eight-year veteran assigned to the Southeast District Middle Shift.
