Police respond to crash on northwest side, find driver suffering from gunshot wound

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 23, 2014)— A man is in critical condition Wednesday night after sustaining an apparent gunshot wound to his leg before crashing his car on the northwest side.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the area near 46th and Dakota in reference to a crash around 10 p.m. When they arrived, officers found the wounded driver.

The man was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition, according to police.
