INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating after a man was killed in a shooting in downtown Indianapolis Tuesday night.
The IMPD said the shooting happened in the 30 block of West Ohio Street just before 10 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a man. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition where he died shortly after arrival.
Police say they were able to capture a suspect in the shooting quickly after a witness saw them running down an alley way.
On Wednesday, police announced that they arrested 35-year-old Dominic Johnson in connection with the shooting. Police say he was detained after being found near the scene. He was preliminarily charged with murder.
