SPENCER COUNTY, IND. — Police in Spencer County located a 2-week-old boy after they say after he was taken from his legal guardians by his biological mother.

Investigators say Carrie Black, 21, of Tell City, Ind. arrived at her parents’ home Saturday afternoon for a supervised visit with her son, Jacob Alexander Black.

During the visit, Carrie was left alone in part of the house with Jacob.

While alone police say Carrie took Jacob, some of her parent’s credit cards and their tan 1997 Toyota Camry sedan and left the area.

Carrie, Jacob and Jacob’s father, Randy, were spotted in an Owensboro, Ky. Walmart shortly after 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Around 3 p.m. local time Sunday, Carrie and Jacob turned themselves in at the Dale Police Department. State Police said Jacob was also with the couple and has been returned safe and sound.

The Blacks have both been preliminarily charged with multiple Class D Felonies including theft and interference with custody.
