Vehicle recovered in north side home invasion

Update: IMPD Robbery detectives report that the 2006 Jeep Commander stolen during Thursday morning’s home invasion on the city’s north side has been recovered.

The Jeep was recovered Thursday night at approximately 11:30 pm in the 3500 block of N. Pennsylvania Ave.

Detectives are still requesting that anyone with information about this incident call the Robbery/Aggravated Assault Unit at 317-327-3722, or if you wish to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS (8477). Callers can also text “INDYCS” plus tip information to 274627(CRIMES).


INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are searching for four suspects who stole a jeep following a home invasion on the city’s north side Thursday morning.

Around 6:30 a.m., police said four black males kicked in the backdoor of a house in the 7000 block of North Spring Mill Road. Once inside, police said they restrained the two homeowners and ransacked the house.

The suspects fled the home in the homeowner’s 2006 Jeep Commander, with the Indiana license plate number 827FDO. The Jeep has a Chicago Bear “C” sticker in the passenger side rear window.

The suspects are described to be in their late teens to early 20s and were wearing dark clothing.

Police said the victims were able to free themselves and call for help at a neighbor’s home. Both victims were assaulted and sustained minor injuries.
