Police search for woman accused of using victim’s ID to withdraw $6,000

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a woman wanted for fraud.

Police said a white female entered the PNC Bank at 6170 N. Keystone Ave. on Aug. 30 and presented the bank clerk with another woman’s identification. The suspect continued to withdraw $6,000 from the victim’s bank account.

The suspect was seen leaving the bank, walking across the street and entering the passenger side of a gray Toyota minivan driven by an unidentified black male.

Police said the license plate obtained came back registered to a car rental company. The van was found abandoned at a hotel by the airport.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward up to $1,000 for information leading to the felony arrest of the suspect. If you have any information, call 317-262-8477.
