GREENSBURG, Ind. (February 25, 2014) – Greensburg police suspect a case of murder-suicide after a frantic search ended late Tuesday with a father and son found dead in a car.

Greensburg Police Department Cpt. Bill Meyerrose told FOX59 News that Greg Hall, 44, and his son Tyler Hall, 14, both died of apparent gunshot wounds inside Greg Hall’s vehicle near the Greensburg City Park off Main Street.

The situation started after the father picked his son up from Greensburg Junior High School and failed to bring him to his mother, with whom the teenager lived, at the agreed time. Tyler’s family became worried, reporting their concerns to the sheriff’s office in Rush County, where Greg Hall lived.

The family told deputies they feared Greg Hall was suicidal.

Rush County deputies were in the process of working on an Amber Alert when Hall’s vehicle was found by Greensburg police, according to Meyerrose.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
