Police searching for driver in hit-and-run on east side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 14, 2014)– Metro police are looking for the driver who hit a pedestrian near 38th Street and Alsace Place Tuesday morning.

It happened around 7:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of 38th between Franklin Road and North Post Road.

The victim, a 32-year-old female, was hit and lying on the hood of the minivan that hit her for about 20 feet, according to witnesses. After she fell into the roadway, the van took off.

Police believe the suspect was driving a blue or gray 1990s model minivan and was headed east on 38th street.

The victim was taken to Eskenazi Hospital with an arm and a leg injury.
