Police: Suspect hits woman in head during Avon bank robbery

AVON, Ind. (Nov. 19, 2015) — Avon police were looking for suspects following a Thursday morning bank robbery.

It happened around 10 a.m. at Indiana Members Credit Union, 10438 East U.S. 36.

According to dispatchers, two men wearing masks, red and white gloves, gray sweatpants and Nike shoes robbed the store. Dispatchers said a woman–believed to be an employee–was assaulted during the robbery. An ambulance was called to assess her injury.

Police found the suspects’ vehicle but believe they switched cars.
