INDIANAPOLIS – A man says two masked men forced him into the trunk of his own vehicle during a robbery late Monday night.

According to a report from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers arrived to find a 38-year-old man crawling out of the back of his car while responding to a robbery in the 900 block of North Ewing Street just after 11 p.m. Monday.

The man told police that he and his girlfriend were sitting in the car when two men in white masks approached. One of the men drew a revolver and hit the victim in the back of the head with it before demanding money. The victim handed over cash, but the men demanded more, and he gave them his wallet. When they again demanded more money, the victim told them all he had left was a speaker in the trunk.

The men pulled him to the back of the car, ordered him to open the trunk and then told him to climb inside after he removed the speaker, the report said.

The man suffered some cuts to his hands and chin, police said. His girlfriend wasn’t hurt.
