Police: Wrong-way driver’s BAC was three times legal limit

An Evansville woman who was seriously injured after driving the wrong way on Interstate 70 in Putnam County was drunk, police released Friday.

The accident happened near the 36 mile marker just after 8 p.m. Thursday.

Police said Pamela Goedde, 57, was heading westbound in the eastbound lanes when she hit a tractor-trailer.

Goedde was lifelined to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with serious injuries internally and to her head and legs.

Officers said Goedde had a blood alcohol level of .24, three times Indiana’s legal limit.

Charges are expected to be filed early next week.
