INDIANAPOLIS - Vice President-elect Mike Pence will now lead the presidential transition, a source on transition planning told CNN.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who had been in charge, will be vice chairman along with Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions.

The source said Pence leading it was not unusual, citing the role of Dick Cheney in George W. Bush’s transition.

"It’s a big deal, everyone wants to be on the transition and to have it be with our Indiana man, that’s great," said Rex Early, who served as Trump's Indiana campaign chairman.

And in the video below, see more of our interview with chairman Early, who admits he too was surprised by Trump's stunning victory on Tuesday.
