Reaction poured in quickly Tuesday night to President Barack Obama’s annual State of the Union address.
FOX59 spoke with assistant political science professor Laura Albright from the University of Indianapolis.
She said the President was strong on domestic issues, but she thought he could have talked at greater length about foreign policy.
“He’s trying to tout everything in terms of (the economy’s) gradual improvement,” Albright said. “I thought overall it was very positive.”
But another local professor thought the speech was too long:
SOTU way too lengthy. Few people still viewing. POTUS got bad advice from media advisors. TV doesn't lend itself to 19th century speeches.

Meantime, Indiana lawmakers had vastly different takes on the speech:
In his first State of the Union address to a Republican-led Congress, President Obama doubled down on many of the same failed policies

President Obama must decide if he is willing to work with us on solutions to create jobs, increase wages and help hard-working families

Tonight I was pleased to hear the President call for improving the lives of middle-class families. My statement here: http://t.co/XFSp53kG5N

#SOTU once again showed the President’s vision for more government, spending, and division. http://t.co/hPmthEPssj
