Vice President-elect Gov. Mike Pence headlining annual scouting luncheon

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Vice President-elect Gov. Mike Pence will spend some of his day touting the benefits of scouting.

Pence will speak at the 21st annual Governor’s Luncheon Monday afternoon at the JW Marriott downtown.

The event is the annual kickoff for the Crossroads of America Council’s fundraising campaign, “Friends of Scouting.”

Each year, the luncheon raises more than $1 million to benefit camps, character development programs and training for more than 31,000 youth and 7,600 adult volunteers. This year’s luncheon is expected to be the largest to date, organizers said.

Others expected to speak include Governor-elect Eric Holcomb and Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett.

James T. Morris of Pacers Sports & Entertainment serves as honorary luncheon chair. Aasif Bade of Ambrose Property Group and Jonathan Nalli of St. Vincent are event co-chairs.

The luncheon runs from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
