Officials are investigating after an off-duty firefighter found possible cyanide composite on the city’s west side.

Authorities were called to the Peerless Pump Loading down near West 21st Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Drive just before 10 a.m. Friday.

A semi truck out of Laredo, Texas, unloaded a delivery and some type of dust fell out.

Officials said the truck had recently off loaded several pallets of a cyanide composite product recently. They believe some of the brick-dust residue fell onto the floor of both the loading dock and the semi during Friday’s delivery.

The product that was off loaded Friday was not the cyanide composite.

Officials said field test results were inconclusive. Further testing has been ordered.

No injuries were reported.
