INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (July 10, 2014) -- The family of fallen Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officer Perry Renn welcomed the public to pay its respects at a visitation and viewing Thursday.

The viewing will be held at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th St., from 2-8 p.m. Thursday.

Renn's funeral will be on Friday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis.  The funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. and will be followed by a procession across Indianapolis that is filled with history and tradition.

On Wednesday, Renn's father, David, spoke exclusively with FOX59 about his son's life.

“He was a son that never did anything wrong, I tell you. I mean, he was just…he strived to be perfect in everything he did,” said David Renn.

Officer Renn was killed in the line of duty Saturday night after responding to a 911 call that reported shots fired in the area of East 34th Street and Forest Manor Avenue.

Major Davis II, a 25-year-old man from Indianapolis, has been charged with murder in the case.
