COLUMBUS, In, (December 20th, 2014)  - A Bartholomew County deputy retires after being at the center of a mysterious death in Columbus. But, a 'Rally for Justice' this weekend continues.

49-year-old Cary Owsley was shot to death in April 2013.   Deputy Dwayne Janes was suspended for his role in the investigation.

Janes touched evidence -and the body- in what was first reported as a suicide.  That led to suspicions by Owsley's family, who accuse deputies of a coordinated cover-up.

Owlsey's sister, Cheryl Jackson, called for criminal charges. However, Janes retired with benefits before a hearing, which was scheduled for Saturday morning.

Jackson still led the rally, demanding more be done.
